We believe that each person is a unique creation made in the image of the Divine Creator. All people are created to know, love, and serve God and one another in view of their potential destiny-full unity with God. We believe that our work, as persons of Faith and Catholic educators, is to build the kingdom of God in this place and time in order to enhance the quality of life for all people. We are called to serve as models of behavior, belief, and learning by our actions and words. We believe that parents and Catholic educators work together to develop a positive self-concept within each child as well as a desire to learn. Our school provides a Catholic Christian environment wherein academic instruction comes together with opportunities to witness to Catholic faith and tradition. This environment must strive to be free of hostility, providing students with models for conflict resolution within a framework of justice and charity. -Philosophy Statement |

Through our Parish School of Religion, we offer weekly religious instruction to children in grades one through eight who are attending public schools. Our Lady Parish School of Religion represents a commitment from the parish expressing the mission of the Catholic Church to proclaim the mission of Jesus Christ to all people. This is accomplished through a program of continuous religions education (Kg.-8th grade) aimed at teaching gospel values, nurturing faith development, and moral formation of each student. Students must have ongoing Archdiocesan approved Religious Education prior to and between the grades these sacraments are offered. First Reconciliation and Eucharist in 2nd grade and Confirmation in 8th grade. Our Lady Parish School of Religion seeks to assist parents in their role as primary educators in preparing their children to hear and live the teaching of Christ as embodied in our Catholic Tradition and to grow in loving relationship with God and others.
Classes are held each Wednesday (excluding holidays) from 6:45 to 8:00 PM in our school building. Registration is held in April and May before the closing of the PSR school year. For more information concerning Our Lady Parish School of Religion you are encouraged to call our CRE (Coordinator of Religion Education).
RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS (RCIA) The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is for adults who are interested in becoming Catholic through Baptism or by Profession of Faith if they are already a baptized Christian. Those taking part have the opportunity to journey with us through an entire Church Liturgical Year before making their final decision to become Catholic.
During this time, they are nourished by the Word of God. They share their faith journey with each other, their parish sponsor, the RCIA team and catechists, and they learn of important doctrines and traditions of the Catholic Church. After a period of approximately 18 months, those who choose to embrace the Catholic Faith, are baptized or received into full communion with the Church, and receive the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist at the Easter Vigil (the Saturday night before Easter). Those interested or anyone knowing someone who might be interested, are encouraged to contact the rectory to be put in touch with an RCIA team member.
