COMMUNION SERVICE In the event that we do not have a priest available to preside at a regularly scheduled Mass, a Communion Service is held in its place with our Pastoral Associate or other Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist presiding. A Communion Service consists of Song, a Penitential Rite, Scripture Readings of the Day, Intercessions, The Lord's Prayer, the Communion Rite (Reception of the Eucharist-hosts from the tabernacle that were already consecrated at Mass held at another time.), Prayer, Blessing and Dismissal. Usually the need for a Communion Service is only on the weekdays.
